This is hard to get. If you're under 30 years you also might get a so called working holiday permit. So you can work up to 3 months only for one boss and then you have to change jobs. But these jobs are usually those others don't want to work for such as fruit picking and similar. It's a hard work and a lousy pay. But you're going to meet many other young people. Good luck. I have not tried driving on the right, but according to a friend of mine it is not difficult, he hired a car in Atlanta and drove to New York via inland states. No problem.
